PROMISING YOUNGSTER
'V\rHEN Real Huon finished ’ ’ second to John Jinks in the Spring Sapling Stakes at Ashburton in June it was generally conceded that the honours of the race were in favour of Ossy Hooper’s charge. He did not have a good run in the early stages, but was putting in great work at the right end, and his showing impressed many good judges. The son of Denver Huon and Placid is billed to make his initial three-year-old appearance tomorrow at Ashburton in the Rakaia Handicap of ten furlongs in which he is on the same mark as John Noble, Mountain Ore and Paiser, conceding 36yds to Nell de Beau and Tahoe and in receipt of 48yds from the mighty Wrackler. If started Rea! Huon should run a good race, but he will have solid opposition from Nell de Beau and Wrackler.
