TROTTING
By ABAYDOS PROMISING PACERS TROTTERS WITH PROSPECTS NOTES AND COMMENTS Mountain Dell has been taking things placidly since the August fixture at tpsom, but she is in nice order to undergo a preparation for the Waikato meeting next month. The big event at Claudelands may be her next mission, and her party need have no fear in tackling the advanced class, as the daughter of Blue Mountain King is one of the real type and will improve as the season advances, till she reaches the dress cricle society. May Stay Better Tho party behind Great Peter 'have great hopes that the purple-bred pacer with another year over his head will display the expected stamina this season that will enable him to win some decent two-mile heats. While the brother to Great Bingen and Pete* Bingen has a rare turn of speed up to a middle distance, he has so fur failed to take out over the longer course, but this season may find the son of Nelson Bingen showing a change of tactics. Right At Last Enawuh is still under the charge of Alan McMillan at Tamahere, and the daughter of Peterwali has gone along tho right way since her successful visit to Alexandra Park for the benefit fixture. Although it took some considerable time to get the Gisborne-bred pacer to reproduce the form that made her famous as a two-year-old. there is every possibility that she will now go on successfully and reach a higher plane before the season closes. Will Make Good . Lirnosa is bowling along freely at Claudelands and appears to have benefited as a result of the racing she experienced at Epsom recently. It looks as if trainer Lowe Is getting the sister to Pluto and Denver’s Doll into tune again and her display over two miles at Auckland suggests that the Denver Huon mare will not be long in showing a -field the way to come home. Claudelands and Whangarei should find her ready to tackle all comers. When He Goes So.lid Explosion continues to work attractively at Alexandra Park, and if trainer Julian could induce the son of Nelson Bingen and Ena Bell to infuse the same dash into his efforts under silk that marks his training operations, he would soon work his way out of the society in which he is at present associating. “Tartar” is devoting a lot of time and attention to .the long-striding chestnut and his efforts to get the pacer ready to accept a winning certificate, deserves to meet with a just reward. An Evergreen Pacer The evergreen All Bell is again among the Epsom trained contingent., having signed on for duty with W. Cockbill, who scored some good successes with the old gelding last season. That the son of Gold Bell retains a lot of his great speed was demonstrated by his forward running at the last two fixtures held at the Park, but since he took part at the benefit meeting All Bell has been in easy street and has come in again on the robust* side. Trainer Cockbill knows, however, just what the old pacer requires, and when he tunes him up again the Gold Bell gelding may show a lot of his younger opponents the way to come home over a short course. Tiger Salve is d’oing his daily exercise at Epsom like the thorough tradesman that he is and C. G. Lee will have the sturdy squaregaiter in good nic;k when he next sports silk. The son of Rock Huon is one of the bread and butter kind and when the footing is firm he can trot to some tune. “Tbgo” and Tiger have a perfect understanding with each other, and in the trainer’s capable hands the tro.tter is always found doing his best on race day. Still Going Strong Tradesman is hitting out in bold style of late and Ills track displays are of sufficient merit to encourage owner Ted Sandall to keep the son of First Voyage going in anticipation of a return during October or November. In his latest essays at Epsom the old square-gaiter has been driven by Geo. Phipps, and it is more than likely that when Tradesman next figures in a race, Phipps will be wearing the light and dark blue jacket. A win for the veteran sporting owner would be popularly by the trotting fraternity. When G'oing All Square Now that he has tasted the sweets of victory, Poter McKinney will probably feel inclined to continue in winning vein for A. McMillan. who scored with his new charge at the first time of asking. The son of Peterata has always plenty of speed in his races, but was inclined to leave his feet on the slightest provocation. If
