GROWING USE OF KNIVES AND RAZORS PEOPLE APT TO SLASH OUT LONDON, September 11. “We do not want the knife used in this country. It is peculiarly unBritish,” said the Recorder (Sir Ernest Wild. K.C.), addressing a grand jury at the Old Bailey. He pointed out that the number of charges listed involving knife or razor wounds was exceptionally large. “People are too apt to slash out when angry or jealous, and the prevalence of these cases must be taken into account when metins out punishment.”
