’SHORE DANCE

Transport Company's Social Club STREAMERS AND BUNTING The second of the series of fortnightly dances arranged by the North Shore Transport Company Employees’ Social Club was held on Tuesday, and proved an outstanding success. Streamers and banting, with the house flag of the company as the central motif, gave a gay touch to the scene. The orchestra of seven instruments, under the direction of Mr. Fred Bartley, played excellent dance music. The supper extras were played by Mrs. W. Lawrence. Among the dancers present were:— Miss Unice Wilson, who wore flame crepe de chine with gold sunrays; Miss Ida Tucker, kingfisher blue and gold taffeta, with blue and rose medallions; Miss Molly Fleming, emerald green chiffon taffeta and gold lace; Mrs. A. Lawrence, mauve georgette and ivory lace: Mrs. Harrison, henna georgette, with buckle of brilliants; Mrs. Burgess, old gold crepe de chine, with gold hip buckle; Miss Alice Armitage, period frock of palm forest green shot taffeta, with buckle of brilliants; Miss Eden King, smoke grey satin charmeuse and silver lace; Miss Joyce Fenton, shell pink net over taffeta; Miss B. Mark, oriental blue crepe de chine; Mrs. M. Mark, pillar-box red satin, with buckle of brilliants; Miss Joyce Mark, cameo pink crepe de chine, with rosebud reliefs; Miss Gwen Hyland, flame crepe de chine, with silver spray; Miss Hilda Hyland, powder blue silk taffeta and gold, lace; Miss Ina Scholium, polka-dotted lace over pink satin, hip bow of taffeta; Miss Peggy O’Neill, lemon georgette, with shoulder spray of violets; Mrs. R. Battye, lime green chenille velvet, with diamente reliefs: Mrs. W. J. Taylor, eau de nil georgette, with pearl reliefs: Mrs. Walter Armitage, panelled frock of peach crepe de chine, with girdle of jade sequins; Mrs. E. Woodward, sen., electric blue crepe de chine, with diamente buckle: Miss Dulcie McFlinn. jade green and silver lame, with rose pink wrap. Miss R. Denzer was wearing delphinium blue georgette, with spray of roses; Mrs. L. H. Coleman, geranium and black crepe de chine and satin; Miss E. Coleman, brick red ring velvet; Mrs. J. Lane, magenta satin, with black satin hip bow; Mrs. Wheatley, cream lace over pink satin; Miss Doris McKee, coral pink georgette; Miss Jessie McKee, handker-chief-pointed frock of eau de nil satin and silver lace; Miss K. Williams, daffodil crepe de chine, with buckle of brilliants; Miss T. Benton, cyclamen satin and hand-painted wrap; Mrs. J. Hooker, moonlight blue celanese, with hip bow; Mrs. Rambaud, sea foam green crepe de chine; Mrs. Macken, gold lame and lace with flounced skirt; Miss Ivy Dixon, handkerchief-pointed skirt of flame crepe de chine; Miss W. Crossley, coral pink satin taffeta and georgette, with frilled skirt; Mrs. Kewish, mauve georgette frock with embroidered girdle: Miss Sybil Kewish, powder blue georgette and chiffon, with shoulder spray; Mrs. E. Woodward, jun., tangerine and shell pink georgette.

BRIDGE PARTY AT LYCEUM CLUB MRS. BERNARD GOLDWATER IS HOSTESS A bright and cheery bridge party was given by Mrs. Bernard Goldwater at the Lyceum Club on Wednesday afternoon as a farewell to Mrs. Laing, who is leaving for her home in Honolulu by the R.M.M.S. Aorangi, also for Miss Moira Goldwater, who sails by the s.s. Ulimaroa for Sydney, and thence to Paris and London via the East. During the afternoon a delicious tea was served in the dining room, which was beautifully decorated with spring flowers. The following women were the prize winners:—First prize, Miss R. Cornaga; second prize, Mrs. Fraer; hidden prize, Mrs. Schatz; and the booby prize. Mrs. Chapman.
