Staff Dance
John Court, Limited Hold Bright Function MERRY SCENE IN SCOTS HALL Feathery bamboo and foliage decorated the entrance to Scots Hall last evening when the staff of Messrs John Court, Limited, held its annual ball. Gaily coloured streamers and huge bunches of balloons made the hall look very attractive and from the effectively decorated stage Edgar Bendall’s Orchestra dispensed the newest and most popular dance tunes. COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT Mrs. Winnall was gowned in flame coloured chenille embossed georgette. Mrs. McEwen had on a georgette frock of lido blue embroidered with silver beads. Mrs. Godsall was wearing a pastel pink crepe de sole gown. Miss Walters had on a ro.se and silver beaded ge6rgette frock. Miss Munce’s embroidered lace frock was worn over pastel pink satin. Miss Mincher’s uneven-length gown was of canton jade satin charmeuse. Miss Boon’s frock of black crepe de soie featured french pleating. Miss Lishman chose a smart frock of black and rose-flowered ninon, with spray of natural flowers. Miss Hansen had on black georgette and lace, with skirt of uneven length, and silver beaded coatee. Miss Furey’s frock was of coral pink georgette, with unevenly-pointed skirt. Miss Gaffney had on an ivory taffeta frock. Miss Salter chose cloth of silver and frilled blue taffeta. Miss A. MacMillan’s gown was of canton jade crepe de chine, with a buckle of brilliants on the shoulder and at the waist. AMONG THE DANCERS Mrs. Harold Court was wearing black georgette encrusted with rhinestones, and a white fur wrap. Miss Gwen Court's becoming frock was of turquoise blue taffeta and georgette, with petalled skirt of uneven length. Mrs. T. Davidson was gowned in chenille embossed georgette of rose and ivory tones. Miss Matthews had on cloth of silver and ivory frilled chiffon. Others present were:— Mrs. Hobday, who was wearing a phlox pink frilled net frock; Mrs. Hadyn, jn leaf green crepe de soie; Mrs. Lincoln, who chose ivory satin beaute; Mrs. Richardson, ivory and rose-flowered ring velvet; Mrs. Hawke, who was in black georgette; Mrs. Watson, in cameo pink and blue georgette; Mrs. Williams, who wore a smart black and silver beaded gown; Mrs. Barnes, in a gentian blue beaded frock; Mrs. F. Lucas, whose frock of forget-me-not blue georgette was embroidered with crystal beads. Miss Gwen MacMillan, who wore a pink chenille coatee over her frilled tulle frock of cameo pink; Miss Thelma Jones, in lilac satin and georgette; Miss Wine, in a black chiffon frock; Miss Stewart, who wore a spray of golden flowers on the shoulder of her green frock; Miss Dulcie Wilson, who was in pastel pink taffeta; Miss Tye, in a bouffant frock of autumn-tinted taffeta; Miss Bray, wearing ivory satin and chiffon; Miss Tierney, who was in apricot satin and georgette; Miss Curran, french blue embossed georgette. Miss Martin, who was wearing a pink chiffon frock hemmed with marabout trimming; Miss Donovan, whose green velvet gown was relieved with pink; Miss Rice, in blue and pink georgette; Miss Garner, wearing mauve taffeta; Miss Trevarthen, who wore powder blue georgette; Miss Horrocks, in pastel pink silk net; Miss Ramsay, in a period gown of orchid sprigged taffeta; Miss Marie Bryson, cyclamen beaded georgette; Miss Creamer, in cuban orange crepe de chine; Miss Metcalfe, rose ring velvet and satin; Miss White, who had on a peach pink georgette frock; Miss Field, silver beaded eau de nil georgette. Miss Aspipall, who was wearing a cameo pink beaded chiffon frock; Miss Crossley, turquoise georgette; Miss Svenson, rose georgette, with silver relief; Miss R. Gatwood, in forget-me-not blue taffeta; Miss Gall, in a pastel pink beaded georgette frock; Miss Mcßlickie, black crepe de soie; Miss Burke, in ivory georgette relieved with silver; Miss Wright, lido blue georgette; Miss Keevey, pompadour pink chiffon; Miss Somers, wearing an ivory georgette gown; Miss Valerie Harris, black georgette encrusted with rhinestones; Miss Grier, leaf green crepe de chine; Miss Langton, apricot chenille; Miss Pollard, in powder blue georgette; Miss Sheila Anderson, a lemon-tinted lace frock; Miss Murray, printemps green georgette; Miss Holly, in ivory satin and frilled georgette; Miss Cottingham, who wore an ivory faille gown.
