RAILWAY PARCELS TRAFFIC

CASH ON DELIVERY SYSTEM It is not generally known that the Railway Department will collect from consignees on delivery, and refund to senders, the value of the contents of packages consigned through its parcels branch. To many business houses, and particularly those which have an extensive country connection, the system must commend itself. It relieves the sender from anxiety regarding payment for his goods. It also enables him to dispatch orders without the necessity of conducting preliminary negotiations, which under other circumstances might be necessary. The customer benefits also, inasmuch that he simply notifies the firm by letter of his requirements and is assured that these will be speedily supplied.
