NOVEL BROADCAST

WAITOMQ CAVES CONCERT RELAY TOMORROW TO IYA In this Dominion are many notable tourist resorts, but there are probably none which combine such variety and novelty as the Waitomo Caves. Unfortunately, there are many who are unable to avail themselves of the charms of Waitomo, and' to test the peculiar acoustic properties of the Cathedral Chamber. Of particular interest to these, therefore, will be tlie concert to be broadcasted from Cathedral Chamber, on Friday, from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. The concert will be given by a party of IYA artists in conjunction and by arrangement with the New Zealand Government Tourist Department. The concert will be relayed by land line to IYA, and there transmitted to listeners, who will thus have an opportunity to hear a good programme given in a novel manner. On the programme will be duets, songs, elocutionary numbers, and pianoforte solos. The artists arc all of the front rank, and include Miss Millicent O’Grady, soprano; Miss Nina Scott, elocutionist; Mr. Owen Pritchard, entertainer; Mr. Cyril Towsey, pianist; and Mr. Len Barnes, baritone. This is the first time such a novelty has taken place in New Zealand, and will be, it is hoped, the forerunner of many similar interesting events. The Post and Telegraph Department is assisting in the relay.
