Stock auctioneers report on sales held throughout the district during the past week as follow:

Alfred Buckland and Sons, Limited:— During the week we held sales at Westfield, Waiotira, Waiuku, Turua, Kumeu, Pokeno and Runciman. also in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, the annual bull sale on account of the Franklin Jersey Breeders’ Club. Full yardings came forward at all centres and found ready buyers. Best dairy cows and heifers made £35 to £l9: second grade, £lO 10s to £l4 15s; backward and other dairy cows, £5 10s to £10; small springing heifers, £6 to £8 15s: empty young cows and heifers, £5 to £7 ss; heavy prime fat cows and heifers, £ll to £l6 15s; lighter fat cows and heifers, £7 to £lO 15s; fat steers, £l2 10s to £l7 17s Cd; grown steers in forward condition, £lO 15s to £ll 16s; four-year-old steers, £9 10s to £lO 10s; three to four-year-old steers, £8 15s to £9 10s; two to three-year-old steers, £7 10s to £8 15s; yearling to two-year-old steers, £5 5s to £7 10s; well-bred yearling to 15-months-old heifers, £6 to £8 Is; other yearling heifers, £3 15s to £5 15s; pedigree Jersey bulls, £lO 10s to 45 guineas, according to age, breeding and quality: grade Jerseys, £7 7s to £lB 18s; Shorthorn bulls, £8 8s to £l6 16s; other bulls, £4 to £8; heavy bulls. £8 10s to £l2 7s 6d.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited:—Sales were held during the past week at Westfield, Pukekohe (cattle and pigs), Warkworth, Papakura, Paeroa and Ngatea. We report good sales, with values firm for all classes of cattle. At Papakura there was a large attendance of buyers for the advertised store bullocks, which sold very readily. We quote:—Dairy cows and heifers, best, £l3 to’£l7 ss; others, £8 to £l2 10s; aged cows and inferior heifers, £4 10s to £7 10s; store cows, £4 to _£7; bulls, £5 5s to 20 guineas, according to age, breed and quality; yearling heifers best, £5 10s to £7 15s; others, £3 to £5 ss; yearling to 18-months steers, £5 to £7 ss; two to two and a-half-year steers, £7 30s to £8 15s; three three and a-half-year steers, £9 to £lO 10s: four to four and a-half-year steers, £lO 15s to £ll ISs; beef at fully Westfield quotations. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held a sale at Helensville on Tuesday. There was a fair yarding of cattle, and competition was steady throughout, practically a total clearance being effected at ruling rates. Several buyers from outside districts assisted materially in the success of this fixture. Few good quality damy cows were yarded, but these sold readily, Shorthorn springers making up to £lO. Several pens of fat Shorthorn cows met with fair competition and made U P to £9. Quotations:—Light fat cows, £7 7s Gd to £9: store cows, £4 15s to £5 9s; low-conditioned sorts, £3 15s; Shorthorn yearling steers, £5 10s to £5 16s; Shorthorn-Jersey cross yearling heifeJs ’ o £3 15s: Shorthorn yearling heifers, £4 2s 6d; dairy cows, £7 17s 6d to £9; backward sorts. £5 7s 6d to £6 15s. N.Z. CO-OP. DAIRY COMPANY PAYMENTS FOR AUGUST Shareholder suppliers to the New Zealand Co-op. Dairy Company are to receive an advance of Is 6d a lb for first grade butter-fat supplied during August for both butter and cheesemaking. A premium of 2Jd will be paid for milk supplied for casein manufacture, and the usual premium for supplies for milk powder. AUCTION NOTICES The Auckland Co-operative Terminating Building Society’s usual monthly advertisement, appearing in another column, notifies its members that the September meeting for appropriations is to be held at the society’s office in Wellesley Street West, at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, when £10,400 will be allocated by ballot and sale, Mondav, September 23, being the last pay day for the meeting. There is also mention of the 70th group, now in course of formation. Palethorpe and Parkes -will offer for sale by auction at their rooms, 1 and 2 Winstone Buildings, Queen Street, on Friday, at 11 30 a.m., the following properties:—Otahuhu: Shop and house property, corner shop, 20ft by 20ft, house of four rooms, kitchen range, bathroom and small cottage of two rooms, situated at the corner of Titi and Kaka Streets, just close to Walmsley Road Railway Bridge. Epsom: Bellevedere Avettue, level elevated section on slopes of Mount St. John, two minutes from trams, etc., 69ft 3in approximately by 150 ft approximately. William A. Horne, Ltd., will offer by public auction at Horne’s Buildings, corner of High Street and Vulcan Lane, Friday, at 12.30 p.m., under conduct of the registrar of the Supreme Court, at the request of the mortgagee, a dwelling situated at No. 26 Dickens Street, off Rose Road, Grey Lynn, about eight minutes walk from tram service. Contains four rooms, in addition to bathroom, scullery and wash-house. Section has a frontage of 3Sft 6in and a depth of 132 ft. C. F.
