CONCERT CHAMBER TOMORROW For a season of three evenings and one matinee, beginning tomorrow evening. Aucklanders will have the opportunity of hearing the celebrated English actor-singer Dennis Barry, in selections from his repertoire of poetry, drama and song. Mr. Barry, who will be assisted by Margot St. Lawrence Toner. solo pianist and accompanist, will present at the Concert Chamber some of the finest examples of English literature — romantic, dramatic, humorous, also songs of Shakespeare, folk songs and ballads. When reviewing his work with the Alan Wilkie Shakespearian Company recently, the “Sydney Morning Herald” said: —“Mr. Barry had a considerable ' amount of comedy in his hands and ! gave it out in full measure.” Another critic said: —“To hear Dennis Barry | speak is to realise the beauty of the i English language.'' i The box plan is now open at Lewis !
