Deceased was a well-known western district farmer and a former Mayor of Riverton.—P-A_ Robbed Post Boxes Raymond Jack Vernon Elliott was charged in tho New Plymouth Police Court today with breaking open pojst boxes in New Plymouth. Stratford and Waitara. and with the theft of mail matter. Elliott pleaded guilty to all charges and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.—P.A. Prisoner’s Further Sentence Reginald Eugene Seagar. at presept serving a sentence of two years fpr breaking, entering and theft at Hawera. was charged in the New Plymouth Police Court with the theft of £4O in Auckland on March 13. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to six months' hard labour to bo concurrent with his former sentence.—P.A. Speeding Doctor Fined Evidence that he had had to travel at from 60 to 65 miles an hour to catch Dr. R. H. Baxter when the- doctor w?r driving his car from New Brighton to Christchurch, via Bower Bridge, was given in the Christchurch Magistrate’s Court this morning by Inspector S. F, Napper. when he charged the d -ctcd with driving at a dangerous speed Defendant was fined £3.—P.A
