Mr. E. \V. Abercrombie, clerk of the j Morrinsville Court, was taken to the Waikato Hospital on Friday evening j and underwent an operation for appenj dicitis shortly after his arrival. He is stated to be making rapid progress tol ward recovery. i At this week’s meeting of the Morj rinsville Borough Council the secretary ;of the Auckland Automobile Associa- ! tion wrote that a meeting was being convened, at which representatives of local bodies and others interested were invited to attend to protest against the Government proposal to divert money from the highways fund to the general account. The council was invited to be represented. The Mayor considered the council should lend its support to the movement, and it was decided that the association be advised accordingly. • * • Failure to send three of his children to the Morrinsville School for varying periods in July resulted in Charles Perry appearing before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M.. at the Morrinsville Police : Court. The minimum fine of 2s on j each of two charge® was imposed.
