“FLOUTING PUBLIC OPINION”

Sir, — The Auckland Hospital Board meets tomorrow and I sincerely trust that this time the members will have the courage to admit that they have been in the wrong in flouting medical and public opinion in their determination to proceed with the construction an infectious diseases block in the heart of the city. Living as I do in Grafton Road, I may be biased against the scheme, but leaving my own views out of the question, it would certainly seem that 75 per cent, of the doctors of the community are opposed to placing a block of this kind in the hospital ground, and it is safe to assume that of the citizens who have given it serious thought an equal proportion supports the medical view. Monday. BRIDGE.
