The Mulwarrie Shire Council has j expressed its willingness to close the loads over the Parkesbourne circuit to permit ot the races being heltl without contravention of the Traffic ! Act, and an immediate move is being made by the A.C.tJ. to ensure that the T.T. races will be the finest ever promoted In Australia. The. following events will be -dejcided:—Senior Tourist Trophy, 100 miles, for machines of unlimited - capacity; Junior Tourist Trophy. 100 : miles, for machines up to 350 c.c.; All Powers Solo Handicap, 27 miles; All | Powers Side-car Handicap, 27 miles. ' j Possibly a light-weight race will he incorporated in the junior event. As the races will carry the Austra- I ! liau title, competitors from other States are expected, and the rivalry, while being friendly, will be intense. ! HISTORY OF THE RACES Tourist Trophy events in New j South Wales have not been numerous, i and most of them have been-held near Goulburn city. The first was promoted by the Motor-Cycle Club of New South Wales and held in 1915. „ Owing to the Great War racing was abandoned until 1919. when the M.C.C. staged more races, and at Easter, 1921, events were again held. All of these races were held over the renowned Breadalbane-Collector circuit, near Goulburn, and old motorcyclists still talk of the splendid rides put up by the old-timers. It was not until 1924 that further racing took place, when the A.C.U. staged the Australian Grand Prix races over the Goulburn. Windellama, Bungonia circuit. Stuart Williams, Dave Brewster, Tom Benstead, R. Preston, H. Bird were the stars at that meeting. Last Easter at Goulburn the A.C.U. held Tourist Trophy races for NewSouth Wales, and they were highly successful. Being only for, the State title, however, and having only a few tveeks in which to get going, the organisation was only on a minor scale compared with 1930 expectations.
