TOURING HOCKEY TEAMS
VALUE OF VISITS TO GAME AUSTRALIANS DISCUSSED Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Today. At a meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Hockey Association a letter was received from the Australian Association conveying its thanks for the arrangements made uuring the recent tour of an Australian team and paying a tribute to the work of the referees. The Wellington Hockey Association wrote asking for a frank expression of opinion from all the associations regarding the utility of visits from Australian teams, from the point of view of finance and the general benefit to hockey. The secretary reported that all associations, which had Ibul matches with the Australians, bad come out well financially, except Wellington and Auckland. The Auckland Association would have made a Profit but for the bad weather experienced on the day of tho match. The New Zealand Association had made a very satisfactory profit on the tour and the Australians had played hockey of a satisfactory standard, an d undoubtedly the game had benehtod in New Zealand.
