UNIVERSITY COLLEGE
ADMINISTRATIVE BUSINESS The Auckland University College Council, presided over bv Sir George Fowlds, yesterday received a report from a special committee of the Professorial Board concerning the requirements of the college for the next 20 years. The report, the general trend of which was approved by the 1 rofessorial Board, was received. The appointment of Mr. W. R. McGregor as curator of the biology* department museum was confirmed. scholarship grant from the Smith \Vylie funds was made to A. D. McKinnon, a forestry student, as recommended by the Professor of Forestry. A donation of £36 toward the school of commerce library was received with thanks from the College Commerce Students’ Society. A request from the Professor of Physips for the provision of facilities m the College Hall for popular lectures on scientific subjects was referred to the president. Tho council decided that as the .crams for each science department were above the average of the four colleges no increase should be made. The same decision applied also to library grant*.
