MISS COATES
for many years president of St. Mary’s Homes and was also president of the Wellington branch of the Victoria League. She was keenly interested in the Girls’ Friendly Society. In Auckland Miss Coates was actively interested in the affairs of St. Mary’s parish, and attended that church until a week ago, her death occurring after a very short illness. At St. Mary’s yesterday Canon Fancourt referred to her life and work. The funeral took place at Purewa yesterday afternoon, the interment being private. Sir James Coates is the only surviving member of the family.
