HAMILTON BEATS GISBORNE Hamilton chess players concluded their match against Gisborne, by telegraph, on Saturday, the result being a win for Hamilton by seven games to five. It was a very even contest, the final result being in doubt up to the finish of play. This was the first of a series of matches in the competition for the Blackbourn Cup, presented by the president of the Gisborne Club, to be competed for by clubs other than Auckland and Wellington.
