JEALOUSY AND MURDER
FASCINATING VIOLINIST FOUND DEAD IN ROOM Urbano Siegiing, a young Hungarian violinist, has been the most popular man this summer in Henkenhagen, a little watering-place on the Baltic, says the Berlin correspondent of the “Daily Mail.” His romantic playing of wild Hungarian airs, his youthful charm and flashing eyes, and the dance music of his orchestra, made the cafe at which he appeared a favourite resort of visitors. The young Prussians, who were jealous of the Hungarian because the girls raved about him, were pleased to be able to tell their fair friends two days ago that the violinist had been found drunk. Merrymakers returning from a dance in the small hours had found Siegiing lying in the street beneath the window of his room, and got him into the house and put him to bed. Later that morning, however, he was found dead in his room, and medical examination showed that he had been murdered. Suspicion fell on the former head waiter of the cafe, who had been dismissed for stealing a customer's pocket-book. Siegiing, as he stood playing his violin on the platform, had seen the waiter sweep up with a table-napkin the pocket-book which-the customer had put on the table, and the book was found in the waiter’s pocket.
