Mrs. Jack Cliitty is a Hamilton visitor to Raglan. Mrs. Ivory, of England, is the guest of Mrs. R. B. Cranwell. Mrs. W. C. Ring, of Hinuera, has left for a visit to Sydney. Mrs. A. J. Bond, of Hamilton, and Miss C. Ring, of Hinuera, left by the Tofua for the Island trip. Miss A. Brewster, of New Plymouth, is the guest of Mrs. T. A. Mulroy, of Hamilton, for the youth Auckland golf Among the players in Hamilton for the women’s South Auckland golf tournament are Airs. R. Rainger, Mrs. Buttle. Mrs. J. AI. Wilson, Mrs. G. F. Ferguson, Miss E. Wilson, from Middlemore; and Miss G. Easton, from Titirangi. * Miss AI. Alawhinney, who for some time lias been private secretary to the general manager of the New Zealand Dairy Company in Hamilton, is leaving for a position in Wellington on the staff of the General Manager of Railways. Before she left the Hamilton office, Air. Parlane, on behalf of the staff, asked Aliss Mawhinney to accept a xylonite dressing-table set and a leather suit case, in memory of tho ten years she had spent with them. * * * PLAY READING On Alonday evening members of the Te Awamutu Literary Society visited the Cambridge Literary and Debating Society and provided a very pleasant programme as a finale to a successful season. Three one-act plays were given. Scenes from Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night,” where the part of Alalvolio wa, read by Air. A. Swarbrick, Sir Toby Bclche*. by Air. J. Oliphant: the Clown, by Air. K. Smith; Sir Andrew Aguecheek, by Mr. Bevin; Fabian, by Air. D. Lord, and Alaria, by Aliss S. Empson. “The Trial of Pickwick,” where the judge was read by Air. T. Grant; Buzfuz, by Mr. J. Oliphant; Snublen, by Air. D. Lord; Simpkin, by Air. S. Alandeno; Airs. Bardell, by Airs. Gibson; Air. Pickwick, by Mr. Penn; Mrs Sanders, by Aliss S. Butterworth; Aliss Cluppins, by Airs. Oliphant; Sam Weller, by Air. Barnett; Air. Winkle, by Air. Roy Hill; the Court Clerk, by Air. Porritt. Their third reading was Barrie’s “Twelve-Pound Look,” where Kate was read by Aliss L. Bray; Lady Sims by Miss Sybil Butterworth; Sir Harry Sims, by Air. K. Smith. At the end of the evening Air. S. N. Ziman, president of the Cambridge society, voiced the opinions of all present when he thanked the visitors for their very entertaining evening. YOUNG PEOPLES DANCE On Monday evening Airs. M. Alanning gave a gay little dance at her home for her young son Pat, and his friends. The big drawing-room was used for dancing and the wide verandah for supper. Mrs. Alarming was in a handsome gown of bronze velvet. Her guests were Aliss Alary Gillies, Aliss Joyce Alanning, Aliss Elizabeth Monckton, Miss Clare and Miss Freena Clayton Greene.
