Fis understood that the first three horses that made the acceptance for the Avondale Cup next Saturday were the three at the head of the weights—a compliment to the handicapper. Wanganui running has brought Prince Humphrey into the market, and this was by no means surprising. The half-dozen horses that are fancied at this stage for Saturday’s big evert are: PRINCE HUMPHREY HISTORIC PRODICE PADDON BAROMETER HIGH PITCH The above horses can be regarded as certain to see the post next week, and they certainly appear to have the best chances of carrying off the whole of the prize money between them.
