NEW POST OFFICES

CHANGE-OVER AT UPPER SYMONDS STREET OPENING AT MERCER The new post office at Mercer will be opened on Wednesday without ceremony. On Tuesday night a change-over from the present office will be made and on Wednesday morning the new building will be opened for business. Early next month the New Lynn office will be opened, probably by the Hon. J. B. Donald, Postmaster General. This building cost £ 1,987. On October 1 the post office in Upper Symonds Street will be moved to premises on the opposite side of the street in preparation for the new building. The present building is to be demolished and a start made with the foundation of the new one on November 1.
