BROWNIE PACK FROLICS
JOLLY EVENING AT DEVONPORT The Devonport Brownie Pack entertained friends at a fancy dress dance in the Foresters’ Hall under the direction of Brown Owl, Miss Meg Brown. Dancing, games and concert items mad l, a merry night and the hall was crowded. Mrs. Percival, a past president, who is district commissioner, judged th prizes for the fancy dresses, and Mr>. Bennett, past president, presented the prizes. Among the committee members present were Mrs. Augliton, Mrs. Chesson, Mrs. Norman, Mrs. Parker, Mrs. Wingfield, Mrs. Hamlin, Mrs. McClelland and Miss Faulbauin. Th© supper tables were decorated in owl brown and spring green. Mrs. Stevenson played the dance music. The costume prizes were awarded as follows:—Most original dress (.boy): Ronald Josling, Devonport, Land of Ihe Free, a Satire on Municipal Dont’s; girl, Jean McGregor, Cottage. Prettiest dress: Gfrl Tiny Tot Martin. Mid-Victoria Frock, 1 : Mary Waters, Lavender Girl, 2. Prettiest pair: Day (Oliver Farrellv) and Night (Rosie Farrellv). Special pruL • was given the baby of the pack, Diany Sullivan, for selling the most tickets, ID in number. Among the children in fancy dress were:—J. Lewis, Shepherdess; Y. Hay, Old Fashioned; P. The Boy of Noes; Patty Brown, Gipsy, Greta Munro, Dutch Boy; Dorothy Munro, Dutch Girl; Ursula Wells, Ice Cream Girl: Ivan Hatton, Cowboy; Molly Connor. Daisy; Connie Smallwood. Lady of Last Century; Betty Massey, Grandma: Peggy’ Massey, pink crepe de chine. Denise Holmes, Spring Fairy; Norman Josling, Red Indian; M. Beck, forest green knit silk; B. Brambley, mauve silk and lace; C. Blackie, Pirate. Songs were given by Peggy Massey, Denise Holmes and Betty Mascey.
