OTAHUHU ORPHANS’ CLUB

Bro. H. T. Clements presided over a good attendance of members and visitors at the fortnightly meeting of the Otahuhu Orphans’ Club on Tuesday evening. The official guests were Bro. R. Buchanan, president, Bro. C. IT. Osborne, secretary, and the executive officers of the Onehunga Orphans’ Club. The members of the Otahuhu Borough Council were also the guests of the club. A very enjoyable programme of musical items was headed by an overture by the club’s orchestra, under the baton of Bro. Edwin Parker. Other items were contributed by Bro. Howard Hunter, vocal solo; Bro. Knight, elocutionary; Bro. J. Calvert, vocal solo; Bro. Arthur Austin, humorous selection; Bro. H. Taylor, of H.M.S, Philomel, vocal solo; Bro. Alan McSkimming, character sketch; Bro. Hugh Wood, vocal solo; Bro. Atford, conjuring. Bro. J. Hutton was accompanist.

Bro. A. McDonald, president of the club, will preside at the next evening, which is the last of the session.
