SHIPS’ BOAT RACE

HORORATA CADETS WIN CUP CONTEST IN WELLINGTON (From Our Resident Reporter) WELLINGTON, Today. The boat crews of deep-sea vessels in Wellington Harbour raced for the cup presented by overseas shipping companies yesterday. Six boats competed, two being from the Pakipaki, two from the Hororata and one each from the Tasmania and Rotorua. The boat manned by cadets from the Hororata won the race by three lengths, the Rotorua being second and the Tasmania third by half a length. The last holder was the Tasmania, which held the cup for two years in succession.
