DAFFODIL BLOOMS
EXHIBITION AT SCOTS HALL AUCKLAND SOCIETY'S SHOW Paling from gold to light yellow, daffodils are in abundance at Scots Hall, Symonds Street, where the spring show of the j Auckland Horticultural Society j commenced today. This year the National Daffodil Society is showing in conjunction with the Auckland body. Entries for the show exceed those of previous years and the blooms are up to the usual standard and probably a little better. Some excellent private displays are on view. Sir Edwin Mitchelson, president of the Auckland society has a beautiful display of Primula Malecoides, Primula Obconcia, Grandflora and Gigantia. Sir Heaton Rhodes, of Christchurch, president of the National Society, has exhibited a magnificent display of daffodils, and a display of daffodil seedlings is made by Mr. R. G. Sharp, of Oratia. The city council has a big display of orchids and ferns. The show will be open until 10 o’clock this evening and from 10 a.m. to 19 p.m. tomorrow.
