CARNIVAL DANCE
FUNCTION FOR “BUSINESS QUEEN" A very gay evening was spent at Coatesvile on Saturday, when a large number of friends and supporteis of Aliss G. LTtting, the Birkenhead “Business Queen,” made the journey by bus, kindly supplied by Mr. Les Purdy and by cars supplied by Mr. Russell Ingram. The hall had been prettily decorated with streamers by the residents of Albany and Coatesville. and a pleasant evening was spent in dancing to the music supplied by Messrs. Tow-* Jull, Black and Airs. Kelly. ENGAGEMENTS The engagement is announced of Olive Beryl, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Stubbs, of Auckland, to Eric Reay, eldest son of Air. and Airs. E. AI. Clarke, of Dargaville. The engagement is announced of Grace, third daughter of Air. and Airs. J. W. By gate, of Mount Eden, to David Leonard, elder son of Air. and Airs. L. A. Bone, of Hawera.
The engagement is announced of Alarjorio Sylvester, second daughter of Air. and Airs. Charles Webb, of Grey Lynrn late of London, to Robert George, eldest son of Air. and Airs. Thoma# Townsend, of Hastings, Hawke’s Bay.
