BRIDE-ELECT HONOURED
RECEPTION AND DANCE MANY INTERESTING ITEMS A reception, embracing a gift evening. was held at Wright’s Hall, Belgium Street, on Saturday, in honour of the approaching marriage of Miss Eilee nLyford, of Point Chevalier, the hostesses being Airs. J. F. Chadderton and Miss Chadderton. The rooms had been charmingly decorated with evergreens and roses, coloured streamers giving a bright touch to the scene. Airs. J. F. Chadderton received her guests, wearing a dress of amethyst silk georgette with silver tinsel trimmings. Aliss Chadderton assisted at the reception, wearing wine-coloured ring velvet with ninon trimmings. Aliss E. Lyford was gowned in pink satin beaute, with silver lace and posy to tone. A most enjoyable evening was spent, dancing being interspersed with musical items and competitions. Alorrow’s orchestra supplied the music. Aliss Lyford was the recipient of many useful presents and during the evening thanked the guests for their many expressions of goodwill. Among those present were: Airs. Gus Paul, midnight blue satin beaute and georgette cream embroidered shawl; Airs. D. Walkden, flame coloured crepe de chine, with velvet shoulder flower; Mrs. Merry, frock of beige satin and lace; Airs. R. Wilkinson, cherry red net with uneven hem; Airs. At. Culling, crepe de_ chine, with beige facings; W- E. lon, black chiffon frock, with channel red insertions; Airs. W. Aliller, cyclamen blue embossed velvet and georgette, with apricot shawl; Airs. Geo. Searle, black georgette, with diamente trimming; Airs. G. Elliott, black satin trimmed with red crepe de chine and black lace; Airs. J. Hoole, frock of black tulle, with gold trimmings and pink tulle scarf; Airs. George Rhodes, cherry georgette and lace, and silver: Mrs. R. C. Smidt, white crepe de chine frock with silver lace; Airs.
