SERVICE DRIVER FINED For failing to give way to a motorvehicle, approaching on his right, at the junction of Portage Road and Croat South Road, Otahuhu, on July 10. a service-car driver, Richard John Hastedt. was fined £2 and ordered to pay costs amounting to £1 165., by Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., at the Otahuhu Court yesterday. Kathleen Brown, of Clevedon. stated that she was driving down Portage Ilpad, intending to cross Great South Road. When half-way across the main road her car was struck by Hastedt’s motor, which was going fairly fast. The cars were considerably damaged, but nobody was hurt. Itastedt did not appear.
