MILITARY CAMPS
TRAINING AT NARROW NECK The military camp at Narrow Neck will be occupied almost continuously from now until the end of the army year, which concludes here in the middle of February, 1930. Instruction courses and routine training are now being held throughout the Northern Command. Instruction for officers sitting for promotion will conclude at Narrow Neck today. About 100 officers aud noncommissioned officers from all arms of the service have undergone a week’s course, and examinations will be held next week. This year there are no candidates from the Auckland Regiment for the first appointment to the rank of second lieutenant. From September 23 to 2S a special course will be held at Nari'ow Neck for about 95 officers and noncommissioned officers from artisan or night-parading cadet companies in the city aud suburbs. These companies are distinct from secondary school units. Major F. H. Bell will act as camp commandant, with Lieutenant T. P. Laffey as adjutant.
