SHIELD HOCKEY RESUMES
TEAMS FOR TOMORROW MT. EDEN V. SOMERVILLE After an interval of a fortnight the Auckland Hockey Association’s competition for the Devonport Shield will be resumed at Remuera tomorrow. Considerable interest to the meeting of Mt. Eden, which at present heads the competition, with Somerville. The latter has had a run of misfortune during the last few weeks owing to the inability of several of its best men to turn out for one reason and another. If Mt. Eden wins, the shield should be safe for that team, but if honours go to Somerville the effect will be that three teams will probably be brought level. North Shore: which has been playing well of late, is expected to emerge victorious against Varsity, and St. Luke’s should account for Epiphany. Senior Grade Mount Eden.—Vail.
