MEETING OF N.Z. COUNCIL The monthly meeting of the council of the New Zealand Golf Association was held on Tuesday, September 3, when there were present:—Air. AV. E. A. Gill (chairman), Sir Alexander Roberts, and Messrs. M. J. Crombie, L. O. H. Tripp, A. D. S. Duncan, and G. O. Sutton (secretary). A resignation as a member of the council was received from Air. H. R. Balneavis, which was recorded with regret. Colonel R. O. Chesney was nominated as a member of the council for election at the annual general meeting at AVanganui on September 30. All applications for national handicaps were dealt with by the handicap committee. It was decided that all professionals who enter for the open championship shall be allowed to play. In tho professionals’ foursomes, it was decided that partners shall be drawn for. Forthcoming tournaments are:—New Zealand championship meeting AVanganui, September 27 to October 5: Napier, September 3 to 6; Duller West Coast championship, Septembei 4,5, and 6; Roxburgh, September 5, G and 7; AVaipukurau, September 12, 13 and 14; Hare wood, North Canterbury golf championship, September 14 anc 15; Glendowie, September 26; Hamilton, October 3,4, and 5; AVanganui October 17, IS, and 19; Alasterton October 26 to 28; Hawera.
