TARANAKI WILL RAISE LOAN OF £187.500 I’reas Aaaouuitiuii XEW PLYMOUTH, Thursday. The South Taranaki Power Board's proposal to raise a loan of £ 15T,500 to purchase the plant and undertaking ot the Hawera County Electric Company was authorised by a poll of ratepayers today by 1 ? 0G2 votes to 206. The board proposes to pay £136,500, the figure fixed by the arbitrators, for the company's business, and to spend the balance of the loau on reticulation and for other purposes.
