JAPAN AND ARMAMENTS
REPORT ABOUT COMMISSION DENIED NAVAL REDUCTION FAVOURED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 12.15 p.m. TOKYO, Wed. The reported formation of a Japanese naval commission to study reduction of armaments has been emphatically and oflicially denied. It is considered premature to make a statement at present, in view of the AngloAmerican conversations. It is already known to the Powers that Japan favours reduction of navies, not merely limitation.
