TROTTING AND FOOTBALL
LEAGUE MATCH POSTPONED ARRANGED FOR SEPTEMBER 18 Owing to a misunderstanding between the promoters of the Trotting Trainers-Barmen Rugby League match arranged for yesterday, the game did not eventuate. Several of the Epsom contingent rolled up at Carlaw Park to be informed later that beverage dispensers had congregated at the Domain. When the light-harness representatives reached the latter rendezvous they were short of “gear” and. finding it impossible to keep an even gait without the aid of the kicking straps, decided to postpone the fixture. There M*as also a shortage of colours among the reinsmen. Subsequently K. Hudon (Barmen) and J. Cockle (Trotters) made arrangements for the clash to take place on Wednesday. September 18. and an early application will be made for the use of Carlaw Park for the occasion. “Abaydos” Mould advise the trotting enthusiasts to take advantage of the interval by organising their forces and getting in some training, as the opposing side contains some pretty smart footballers who know their “paces.” 1929 TROTTING FIXTURES .Yew Brighton T.C.—Sept t.
