LOSS ON N.S.W. RAILWAYS
DEFICIT OF £!,039,000 FOR PAST YEAR TRAMWAYS ALSO DOWN SYDNEY, Monday. The annual report of the Railway Commissionei’s of New South Wales reveals a deficit of £1,039,000 on the past year’s operations. The tramways showed a loss of £9,343 compared with a profit of £27,000 in the previous year. The decrease in tramway passengers totalled 12,500,000. The commissioners attribute the deficit largely to drought and industrial troubles.
