INSTITUTE’S CONFERENCE AT KYOTO NEW ZEALAND DELEGATION The conference of the Institute of Pacific Relations, to be held at Kyoto Japan, next month, will probably prove the most valuable yet held. All countries bordering on the Pacific w ! 11 be represented by delegations ■which will include men of outstandacademic or business ability in their respective lands. Since the last conference, a great deal of research work i has been done in the different ! branches of the institute’s activities. 1 The development of the Manchurian situation will also give an added interest to the discussions. The New Zealand delegation will consist of Dr. H. Belshaw, professor of economics at the Auckland TJniversity Coßege; Dr. G. H. Scholefield, of | W ellington; Mr. C. Lawn, of CanterI b "ry College; Miss C. West W T atson, jof Christchurch; and Miss Hay and j Mr. L. G. Hogwood, of Auckland. They will sail for Japan on Sentember 19.. Among the problems to be discussed are food supply and population, industrialisation of the East, and diplomatic and cultural relations in the Pacific.
