Commodore G. T. C. I*. Swabey, R.N., returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. George Baildon, Mayor of Auckland, returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Sir James Allen, K.C.8., arrived from Wellington thin morning, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. The Hon. G. J. Anderson arrived at Frankton Junction this morning by the Limited from Wellington. Messrs. L. B. Campbell and C. K. Brown were among the arrivals from Wellington by this morning’s Limited. The Hon. Vernon Reed, M.L.C., and the Hon. W. W. Snodgrass, M.L.C., were among the passengers who arrived from Wellington this morning on the Limited. The following members of Parliament arrived by the Limited this morn- . ng ;—Messrs. J. X. Massey, W. J. Jordan. H. G. Ft. Mason, A. W. Hall, H. R. Jenkins, A. Harris, W. K. Parry, G. C. Munns and J. S. Fletcher. The Colonial Auxiliary Forces’ longservice medal has been awarded to Lieutenant-Colonel G. Lyon, M.C., commanding the Second Field Brigade, Regiment, N.Z. Artillery, and Major J. F. Potter, of the Auckland Mounted Rifles. Major T. P. Halpin, president of the Auckland Branch of the South African War Veterans’ Association, returned Irom Wellington yesterday morning. While in Wellington he attended the annual conference of the association, and also waited upon the Prime Minister and several Cabinet Ministers with regard to pension subjects. The vice-president.
