DAFFODILS AND FREESIAS
PRETTY REMUERA WEDDING DEAN—SIMPSON A pretty wedding was celebrated at the North Memorial Baptist Church, Kemuera, on Tuesday evening, when Miss Zilla Simpson, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Simpson, Auckland, was married to Mr. Norman Dean, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. George Swales Dean, late of Huddersfield, England. The Rev. J. Ewen Simpson, brother of the bride, assisted by the Rev. A. J. Grigs, performed the ceremony, and Mrs. J. Black officiated at the organ. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, was daintily gowned in a frock of ivory georgette with frilled skirt and ruched bodice. The veil was of hand-embroidered tulle and was clasped with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of azaleas, freesias, sweet peas and daffodils, with maidenhair fern and white satin streamers. She was attended by Miss Jean Morland, who made a pretty picture in a dress of powder blue silk chiffon with flared skirt and vandyked collar of silver lace- Her head-dress was of tulle with diamente trimming, and her bouquet was of primrose shades. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. E. R. Simpson, brother of the bride. The bride’s mother wore a dress of rose beige satin beaute, with hat to tone, and her bouquet was of cyclamen. The bridegroom’s mother wore a dress of dark green silk, with black silk coat and black hat, and she carried a bouquet of violets. The church decorations were carried out effectively with arum lilies and narAfter the ceremony the bride’s parents received the guests in the church hall. The bride’s travelling frock was of ring velvet in shades of gold and brown, with hat to tone.
