QUAINT BRIDAL FROCK
KELSO—PARRIS WEDDING
A very pretty wedding was celebrated at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on Thursday evening, when Esma, eldest daughter of Mr. T. Parris, of Mount Eden, was married to Mr. James Kelso. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, made a charming picture in an ankle-length frilled frock of satin and alencon net. Her long brussels lace veil fell in soft folds to form the train. She carried a shower bouquet of white carnations and stocks and palest pink sweet peas. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Misses Sadie Parris, her sister, and Edna Wilson, who were frocked alike in apricot georgette with uneven hemlines and diamente trimming. They wore large tulle picture hats to match. Little Merle Parris, who carried the train, looked charming in a frilled frock of apricot georgette and picture hat of tulle to tone. All three attendants carried autumn tinted bouquets. The reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, when about 40 guests were entertained. Mrs. Parris received her guests in a charming frock of chenille velour, with bangkok hat to match. ENGAGEMENTS The engagement is announced of Carol, second daughter of the B.ishop of Christchurch and Mrs. West-Wat-son. to Leicester, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Webb, of Invercargill.
The engagement is announced of Edith Frances, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Clarke, of Great South Road. Otahuhu. to Gerald Francis, second son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Waisli, of Millar Street, Ellcrslie.
