AN ANCI ENT PETERBOROUGH— Prince George has performed a number of public duties this year. The camp, the ranges and the danger zone behind the targets occupy some thousands of acres. The longest range for shooting is I,2ooyds and the shortest (for revolvers), 25yds. The Bisley meeting each summer is the event of the year for the shooting experts. The most important prize is, of course, the King's Cup. Second in importance is the as Ashburton Shield, which is competed for by the public schools of Great' Britain. Photograph shows a general view of the competition, this year, for the Ashburton Shield. There was a record entry of 75 teams and the victory went to Glenalmond. Many New Zealanders who received military training in England will recall these famous ranges.
