TE AROHA NOTES

dho Rev. H. B. Hughes was formally inducted as minister of St. David's Presbyterian Church on Thursday evening. There was a large attendance. The speakers were the Rev. J. A. Staines (Morrinsville), Rev. D. IU Hay (Matangi) and the Rev. J. Haslop (Hamilton). Speeches of welcome were made by the Rev. Id. J. O’Dell on behalf of the Te Aroha Methodist Church, the Mayor and Messrs. Kennedy, A. D. Wallace, Lynch and Mrs. Lewis. At the meeting of the Te Aroha Borough Council the question of a suitable landing ground for the use of the re-cently-formed Te Aroha Aero Club was discussed It was decided that a letter bo written to the Minister of Defence asking what Government assistance would be forthcoming should the council decide to procure a landing site. It was decided to hold council meetings once a month, instead of fortnightly, as in the past.
