THAMES ASSESSMENT COURT
Four ratepayers objected to the value placed on their property for rating purposes at a sitting of the Assessment Court held at Thames on Thursday. r - J* G. L. Hewitt, S.M., presided. A property in Pahau Street was valued at £7OO. The owner said he was prepared to sell at £ 500. Tho trustees for M. Dodd’s property at Parawai said they were prepared to sedl at £1,200, but the Government value was £1,375. L. L. C. Dodd objected to the value placed on his seven acres at Parawai, and said he had offered it to the Government at a lower figure. The assessment was sustained. Mr. S. L. Danby, Hape Road, said the land he purchased was valued at £ 3 4s a foot, and the adjoining land at £1 6s. The magistrate decided to inspect the properties before giving judgment.
