WORKMAN'S NARROW ESCAPE
SAVED FROM LONG DROP A narrow escape was experienced by Mr. R. A. Sanders, of 68 Elizabeth Street. Mount Eden, who, while hoisting timber up a lift-well, was struck upon the head by a piece of wood and rendered unconscious. A steel girder across which he fell prevented him dropping down the shaft. The injured man, who was working in a new building in High Street, was removed to the Auckland Hospital, but fortunately only required a few stitches in the head and was later allowed to go home.
