CLAY-BIRD SHOOT
AUCKLAND GUN CLUB The members of the Auckland Gun Club held a successful clay-bird shoot at Pakuranga yesterday. The first five-bird match was won outright by I. Lomas (12yds), with the possible. A seven-bird match was divided bv D. Stoupe (14yds), and E. V. Schofield (11yds), with six kills each. The second seven-birds match was won by E. Wilson (11yds), with six kills; M. Delich (15yds) and E. Schofield (12yds) tieing for second money with five kills each. A 10-birds match was won by E. J. Schofield (12yds). with eight kills. M. Delich (15yds), I. Lomas (12yds) and E. Wilson (12yds) tied for second money with seven kills each, Delich winning the shoot-off. The final match was won outright by M. Delich (15yds), with the possible of 10, all first-barrel kills, this being the best performance of the day. The first big shoot of the season takes place on Saturday week, when Mr. E. P. Mltchelson’s trophy will be competed for.. METROPOLITAN CLUB The Metropolitan Gun Club will hold a series of shoots at its grounds at New Lynn on Saturday afternoon. The first match will be one of seven birds (the third of a series of four), for the Murrell Cup. The second match. 15 birds, will be for a trophy donated by Mr. B. Grayson. In connection with this match there is an optional sweepstake to provide prizes for the second, third and fourth highest scores. After these matches five or seven-bird sweepstakes are held when time permits.
