TAKAPUNA BY-ELECTION

LITTLE INTEREST SHOWN Little interest was being taken this morning in the Takapuna Borough Council by-election for the vacancy caused through the retirement of Mr. A. M. Seaman. Only a very small proportion of the ratepayers had voted at noon. It is expected the result will be known within half anhour of the close of the poll at 7 p.m. The two candidates are Mr. John Collins and Mr. C. H. M. Wills. The candidature of the latter has been supported by the Mayor and a number of the councillors. Following are the voting booths: Council Chambers, Takapuna; Chamber of Commerce, Swanson Street; Takapuna Boating Club Hall, Bavswater; Presbyterian Hall, Belmont; vacant shop, Lake Road. Hauraki; and the Picturedrome, Milford.
