NEGLIGENT DRIVING

LORRY STRIKES CAR A lorry-driver, Roy T. Millar, was charged in the Papakura Police Court before justices with negligent driving. , Thomas W.‘ Woods said that on the afternoon of July 2 he was passing construction works between Takanini and Manurewa, when defendant’s lorry-, travelling fast in an opposite direction, struck liis car on the righthand side, crumpling the mudgguards. Witnesses for defendant deposed that the lorry was travelling slowly, and the car fast, and that Woods apparently swerved and struck the back of the lorry. Defendant was convicted and ordered to pay costs, £3 19s Sd.
