EFFECT OF FEDERAL TAX PROPOSALS SHARP MARKET REACTION Reed. 9.45 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. There was a sharp reaction on the Stock Exchange yesterday to the Federal tax proposals. Recording the consensus of financial opinion, the market promptly dropped the value of eight securities affected by the tax proposals by £319,037. Picture theatre shares suffered most. Breweries and tobacco company shares also fell.
