occurred at Manilla, a town 309 miles north of Sydney. The local flour mill was destroyed, also a large quantity of stacked wheat. The loss is estimated at £30,000. MACDONALD’S TOUR. After meeting President Hoover, the British Prime Minisetr, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, may go to Ottawa in the second week in October, to discuss with the Canadian Government Imperial trade and emigration to Canada and the Imperial Conference. It is unlikely that the Canadian Prime Minister, Mr. AY. L. Mackenzie King, will attend the discussions at Washington.—A.P.A.-U.S.
