YOUNG CRACKSMEN
FOUR YOUTHS IN COURT OTHER CHARGES PENDING Press Association DUNEDIN, Monday. The criminal careers of four busy young Dunedin cracksmen were terminated the other day by detectives, and, as a result, the youths, Charles Walter Ramsay, James Ramsay, John David Caskie and Oliver John Keenan, appeared in the Police Court this morning and were dealt with. There was a lengthy list of charges (' i breaking and entering business premises, and of stealing sums of money ranging from 5s to £l9. There were 11 charges against Charles Ramsay, and the others were also deeply implicated. All admitted the offences aud were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Three of the accused, Keenau being excluded, pleaded guilty to a number of bag-snatching offences committed last year, and their cases were adjourned until after the Supreme Court sittings. Two of the lad a were charged with receiving stolen goods. They will appear on Friday before a special sitting of the Children’s Court. The boys’ ages vary from 17 to 19.
