MORE INCENDIARISM
FIRE IN CHRISTCHURCH Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Today. The Sydenham Bowling Club’s pavilion in Brougham Street, Christchurch, was gutted by fire at midnight last night under circumstances which point to incendiarism. The brigades were successful in saving the older portion of the building, where the members have lockers. Damage to this part will not be great, although the whole structure will have to be rebuilt. The club records were lost. Fireman Burrows, of the Sydenham Brigade, trod on a live wire on the grass and was unconscious for 10 minutes. His companions laid him on the grass and he gradually recovered. The insurances on the Sydenham bowling pavilion and equipment was £BOO in Lloyds. The club loss is estimated at £250 over that amount.
